Should Water Coolers Be Purchased or Leased?
Human beings can live for quite some time without food, but a regular supply of water is required for life to continue. For some businesses, this might not be a huge issue. For example, a small office with two people occupying the space requires a minimal drinking water source. Tap water or individual servings of bottled water might suffice. A large warehouse setting is another matter entirely. Workers required to engage in strenuous physical activities must have access to a reliable, convenient water supply. That type of setting will almost certainly require water coolers.
The next question to decide on is what type of water coolers should be installed? To make a realistic decision, there are several factors that should be determined. Is there an adequate local water supply? Is the water quality acceptable for drinking? Is plumbing going to be accessible? Once those questions are answered, then it is time to seek out professional help from an equipment supplier. The supplier can offer recommendations and provide options allowing the end user to determine which type of water coolers will best meet the needs present.
Another option that will now need to be decided is whether to purchase the equipment or to lease it. Here is where the equipment provider can assist the end user in determining whether purchasing or leasing is the better option. In normal use, water coolers do not require a great deal of maintenance, but there is always some maintenance and sanitation that is required to keep the equipment operating at an optimal level. If there is maintenance staff on-site that can be trained to complete all necessary repairs and maintenance, purchasing the equipment might be viable. On the other hand, if there is no on-site staff that can be relied on to properly repair or service the equipment, leasing the equipment might be a better alternative.
Since it is a given that water coolers are going to be required for most business operations, the final reality is that any option will affect the bottom line of the company. Therefore, the costs and benefits of leasing or purchasing must be considered prior to making any decisions.
